Accepted Eclectic broadcasts live every Wednesday from 6pm-7pm PST. Our name pretty much sums up what you will hear us spinning, a little bit of everything, serving up the feel goods, including funk, rock, afro funk, salsa, soul, jazz, boogie, skratch music and more. So tune in and listen to rotating Deejays: Amerriica, Celskiii, Chungtech, Deeandroid, Jus Jones, & Smokestack, along with different guests on our show.
DJ Amerriica was born and raised in the Bay Area. She started Djing in 1997, being inspired by funky musical geniuses that keep it movin'. She’s been down with Skratchpad since 2003.
Celskiii aka Mama Feelgood has been DJing since 1997. She was heavily influenced by the Deco Beat Lounge DJs, including Derrick D., Invisbl Skratch Piklz, and Beat Junkies. Representing The Deuce Crew, Mighty 4, Females Wit Funk, and Skratchpad, she specializes in mixing, skratching, partyrocking, and dabbles in beatjuggling, battling, and production.
Chungtech—So-Cal born and Oakland based Chungtech can be regularly found throughout the Bay Area sharing her love for all things Firme Funk w/ the Sweaterfunk & Skratchpad fams. In addition to searching for the perfect beat, she can be found getting nerdy on the screenprinting tip, and has a weakness for anything on Rappers Rapp Disco Co. or Saturn Records.
Deeandroid is a Bay Area native, spinning for about thirteen years, mixing and skratching! She’s down with Skratchpad, Mighty 4, Rock Force Crew, Females wit Funk, Sisterz of the Underground Collective, and The Deuce Crew. Dee loves playing for the people and spreading positive vibes whether its through performing at Hip Hop shows, spinning at clubs, community events or doing DJ workshops.
Jus Jones was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, he's been producing beats since 1996 and started DJing right after in '99. In 2001, he moved to San Francisco where he linked up with several Bay Area Hip Hop heads, including DJs and B-Boys. For Jus Jones, digging for samples to use in his production and coming up on B-Boy breaks goes hand in hand. He's down with Horsepower and Mighty 4.
DJ Smokestack is an Oakland based B-boy, DJ, and avid funk connoisseur. Along with crews Forever We Rock/Horsepower, Smokestack represents a rich tradition of b-boying fundamentals in Northern California.
When I heard about the verdict from the Oscar Grant trial, I was thousands of miles away, outside of the Bay Area. What's jacked up is that the case is probably not televised outside of our Bay Area bubble. There was barely even a mention about this court case on the news in Hawaii. But thanks to technology via texts and twitter, I got the news straight from my sister. Sadly the verdict came to me by no surprise. What outcome did I expect to hear from a system that's built on injustice? Along with so many folks here, the verdict just made me feel more angry about how easy Mesherle is getting off. One picture I saw from the peaceful protests in Oakland was of a person with a sign that read: IT'S NOT INVOLUNTARY AT POINT BLANK. I felt it only best to communicate these sentiments through music. Music is the message. It was no coincidence that upon entering Youth Radio today, I saw the boarded up windows with a Trust Your Struggle Mural of Oscar Grant. This show is in dedication to Oscar Grants and the hundreds of people who experience police brutality. Rest in peace Oscar Grant. 1, 2, 3 F*** the Police.

Just in time with the latest issue of Wax Poetics #41, featuring a special article covering Freestyle music, Accepted Eclectic's DJ Amerriica brings you part 1 of a Latin Freestyle mix. Let the music play!
Here's a special Youtube Mix programmed by ADP & Accepted Eclectic for your viewing pleasure.
Accepted Eclectic had a special guest DJ this week, Lady Fingaz, an Austin, Texas native who currently calls SF her home. One dope thing that sets her apart from many DJs is that she not only party rocks (Peaches @ Skylark Thursdays in SF), she flexes on the cut, breaks it down with her juggles, and produces that boom bap on her MPC. From Mary J. and Keak da Sneak, to Dennis Coffey , The Meters , and Atmosphere--Lady Fingaz takes you on a ride for episode 15! Check her out on http://djladyfingaz.com/.
Project Blowed, what's the code? You know we love Acey de Uno and the rest of the crew that comes out of Leimert Park in Los Dangerous. You can't talk about Hip Hop, without talking bout Freestyle Fellowship and the entire Project Blowed fam. We'll see what we can fit in an hour, cause this crew and the Project Blowed catalogue runs deep. Just think of them as some of your favorite rappers, favorite emcees. This is where they get their styles from.
For our 8th show we're taking it back to the boogie to bring out some of the best from our soulful queens of the 80s from the US, UK, and Japan. After recently guesting a night at Devil's Pie with the same theme, it was clear to Chungtech that there was just still too much to uncover so here she brings you an entirely different but just as inspired set from the BQ1 mix- enjoy!
Earlier this week, we heard about the passing of one of the freshest emcees on our planet. So for our 7th show, Accepted Eclectic felt it only right to pay respect to one of Hip Hop's legendary emcees, Guru. His catalog runs deep and an hour was not long enough to play all the dope songs that provided the soundtrack to many of our lives growing up in Hip Hop culture. Rest in Peace Guru. While we mourn your death we will celebrate your life through the music you left us with. Thank you.
Accepted Eclectic welcomed our very first guests, Shred One & Raichous (2/3 of RRS Feed). Shout out to DJ Roza! These ladies blessed us with an hour of dope selection, technique, and even an interview. If you didn't catch it live, you can always check the archive. Don't sleep on this one--guaranteed freshness.
For our second show Jus Jones and Smokestack dig into their crates to dust off some 45s for ya, dipping into the wax archives. This show brings you an intersection of beats from r&b, funk, boogie and soul, all the way to afrobeat and back. Stay tuned as we keep things fresh in the mix with the Accepted Eclectic crew!
